Their accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also convicted of related charges. While Todd’s appeal was denied, their attorney remains hopeful for a favorable outcome in the future.

Prosecutors accused the Chrisleys of falsifying documents to secure fraudulent loans, funding a luxurious lifestyle with luxury cars, designer clothes, real estate, and travel. Todd eventually declared bankruptcy, leaving over $20 million in unpaid loans. Consequently, Todd received a 12-year prison sentence, while Julie was sentenced to seven years, along with an $18 million restitution order. However, a recent court decision mandates a recalibration of Julie's sentence.

The appeal revealed an IRS officer's false testimony, but it didn’t overturn the convictions. The appeals court found insufficient evidence to hold Julie solely responsible for the fraud from 2006, necessitating a recalculation of her sentence. Currently, Todd is serving time in Pensacola, Florida, set for release in 2032, while Julie is incarcerated in Lexington, Kentucky, with a 2028 release date. Tarantino, serving in Montgomery, Alabama, is due for release in 2025.
