Authorities Raid Sean Kingston's Home in Florida

On Thursday, South Florida authorities raided the home of Jamaican-American singer and rapper Sean Kingston. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office targeted the upscale Southwest Ranches property, with aerial footage from WSVN revealing a significant police presence. Multiple cruisers were stationed inside the grounds and at the front gates. Kingston's mother, Janice Turner, was arrested at the scene on theft and fraud charges.

Sean Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson, faces accusations of failing to pay for a $150,000 entertainment system. This issue stems from a February lawsuit filed by Ver Entertainment LLC against the "Beautiful Girls" artist. Dennis Card, the attorney for Ver Entertainment, claimed Kingston uses his celebrity status to acquire goods without payment. "He lures people using his celebrity... then he simply never pays," Card stated, accusing Kingston of repeatedly following this deceptive pattern.

Kingston's legal troubles are not new. In December 2020, he faced grand theft charges over unpaid jewelry bills, with a warrant issued for his arrest and bail set at $45,000. Additionally, in February 2018, a judge ordered Kingston to pay $301,500 to a New York City jewelry store after failing to pay for nine pieces of jewelry and issuing bounced checks. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office plans to extend its investigation to other parts of Kingston’s rental home.
